Everytime we begin to take a walk with our Heavenly Father in this life and allow Him to have His way in our lives, He continues to reveal Himself in a myriad of ways. He shows up for us as our Provider so many times through our friends and family and Faithful Friend Partners. He shows us that He is Faithful in all things whether we see Him or not...we can rest assure He is working and moving on our behalf. He shows up for us as our Comforter when we are in need or even grieving the loss of a dear loved one. This particular journey, we are also finding that He is revealing Himself in some new ways for us.
I think I want to include that He shows us that He is also the great Remodeler (if that truly is the most proper function or use of the word) and the Amazing Carpenter as He works to make new projects of our lives when we come to truly trust in His handiwork. We have seen that He has used us to do some things on our journey out that are not everyday things we may have thought to do for ourselves. Since we have stepped out fulltime, we have watched God take us through several of these kinds of projects. Often times, we are watching Him transform our lives through the very things we are doing ourselves.
This particular journey out, we have spent a lot of time on a remodel job for a widows home. We have seen the home of a family friend burned to the ground. We have seen struggling churches in search of new direction. We have prayed earnestly as family and friends have struggled medically. Yet in all of these things, we have also watched as God continues to do His handiwork... sometimes using us along the way. There are times as we work in the heat of a house with little to no circulating air that we wonder just why we do what we do. We wonder how our "little" contributions to these causes or helping projects are making a difference. We wonder how much it takes in our own lives to consider it "ministry". Yet, God has made it clear that whatever we do for the least...we do for Him. I am so thankful that we serve that kind of God...one who not only cares for our needs, but one who cares enough to "remodel" us, or transform us more into His image as we seek to serve and do His will.
Just what kinds of things need to be remodeled in your life and transformed in your mind to make you more like Him?
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.2 Corinthians 5:17
